[Gogglist_pub] Announcing PranaView

Eric,
Oh, OK. Actually, that's useful to know too, as I thought the
striations made them look more distinctive and interesting. When I
photographed them, I worked hard to make them show up, with multiple
lights, reflectors, etc., to enhance the shadows.
That red glass has a peculiar sharp peak centered right around
400nm, which is why I like it so much. I suspect that the striations
are caused by the colorant, which is dribbled onto the hot melt after it
is poured into a sheet, perhaps to accommodate temperature sensitivity.
One of the reasons I picked from that selection of glasses was the
relatively inexpensive filters I could have made ($5 versus $55 each,)
which was crucial to allow goggles with a moderate price point. But the
tradeoff was no surface treatments or thickness control, so I have the
striations.

But, hey. I listen to drone rock, punk rock, alternative rock, I like
performance art, avant garde art, surreal art, dada art, so I probably
would like the wavy glass too.
